How Managers Can Influence Moods

 

Managers can use humor and give their employees small tokens of appreciation for work well done. Also, when leaders are in good moods, group members are more positive and as a result, they cooperate more. For example, selecting positive team members can have a contagion effect as positive moods transmit from one team member to another.

 

Finally and importantly; Managers need to know the emotional norms in each culture they do business in so they do not send unintended signals or misread the reactions of locals.
