Generational Differences.
In addition to national cultural differences, age, ethnic, and other group cultural differences may affect value systems. Research suggests that many people from older generation in the United States believe that the younger generation has worse moral values, less respect for others, and a lower work ethic than their parents. However, the younger generations are perceived to a higher social and racial tolerance.
Each Individual develops a different value system that shapes attitudes and behaviors. Value systems, in turn, affect ethical behavior in organizations, a factor with critical implications for leaders.
